Why Events

Reformation means standing against the spirit of the age, so pastors and church leaders must join together to encourage, equip, and embolden one another in the work of the Reformation. Most importantly, a society brings the Word of God and prayer to bear on the leaders themselves, strengthening them for the work of a faithful shepherd.

Reformation starts in your local church community. The Reformation Societies are the means to achieving the renewal of the Church, which is our Lord’s Bride. Furthermore, our Gospel is timeless in its message, relevance, and sufficiency for the building of Christ’s Church, the same yesterday, today, and forever. The Biblical standard of Gospel preaching, teaching and worship are embodied in the Solas of the Protestant Reformation and are now stated in the Cambridge Declaration of 1996. For in Scripture alone, we learn of a salvation that is by grace alone, received through faith alone, because of Christ alone, and in all this, to God be the Glory alone. Here We Stand, like-minded in His service and confident in His Work.

Let's move now to Revelation chapter 5. John's given us the initial glimpse into Heaven where He sees the throne of God with all of its glory, with all of its majesty, and then in chapter 5 he says, "Then I saw in the right hand of Him who was seated on the throne, a scroll written within and on the back. Both sides of the scroll were used for this written information."

Now we've considered already the ways in which Jesus fulfilled the Messianic prophecy of the e suffering servant of the Lord that is contained so brilliantly in that chapter of Isaiah 53. "Surely He has borne our sorrows..." and so on...

The Bible speaks about our redemption in terms of a purchase. The Apostle Paul said to his people, you are not your own. What does that mean? You are not your own. You might say, “Of course, I'm my own. Who else's am I? I'm free. I don't belong to anybody else.” Paul said, “Oh, yes, you do. You are not your own because you've been bought. You've been purchased. You have been bought and you have been paid for, and the price that was paid was the blood of Jesus.”

I've always found it somewhat interesting that the critics of the Christian faith aim their guns at the miracles of Jesus and particularly at the resurrection of Christ or the virgin birth of Christ, and they will say, “Oh, come on now, the virgin birth goes against all nature, all science. It couldn't have happened, and certainly when people die, they stay dead and the idea of a resurrection is a myth. I wondered why do they spend so much attention on that rather on the extraordinary aspect of Jesus and his sinlessness? Is there anything more rare? Anything more scarce? Anything more extraordinary? Anything more common than as human being without sin?

Peter refers to the blood of Jesus as being precious, and what I want to consider with you are basically two things. First of all what that term precious means Biblically, and second of all why Peter would use an adjective of this type to describe the blood of Jesus. What is it that makes the blood of Christ precious?
